Lockpicks Lucky/Unlucky
Hello all,
Here is a suggestion a few of us friends came up with, please give us your comments on this.
Seeing as Lockpicks are 1.5k (hefty) but Universal an that increasing your Lucky or Treasure Hunter is very long, not to mention can only be increased during certain short sparse events.
Woudnt it be a very good idea if, each time your lockpick Broke, you would get a +1 point towards your Unlucky title, or if your lockpick Remains, you would get a +1 point towards your Lucky title.
We thought this would be very good.

Hm... there is a similiar suggstion, but telling that if you get a gold item, you get one lucky, and if you get a purple, you get one unlucky.

Adding both the gold/purple and the lockpick broken/not broken would be fine.
It's not that you can increase both lucky and unlicky titles wuite easily.

I thought about this last night and came over to post it. Beaten too it again.
I like the combined idea. Lockpick doesn't break +1 lucky. It does break +1 unlucky. Gold item +1 lucky, purple +1 unlucky.

i like this idea. after you sucsessfully pick say 50 then it goes up 1. some of us worked our butts off for our lucky titles and i do not think it is fair to just give them away. if you are going to do that then how about make it so other titles you can earn are worthless because this would make lucky/unlucky worthless title.
make people work for it. every 50 you pick minimal you go up 1 but at same time every 50 you dont then make it go down.
thats if you got to do it. i just think that it is not fair to give away titles. heck there are some titles i want. how about giving away the explorer titles because i beat the game? sounds stupid right? and i bet those who got the titles would be mad also. same with those of us who got our titles.

Well it could only be active in Hard Mode, as chances there of keeping your lockpick is very low

you need to relax... I happen to have 2nd tier on both of these title tracks and would love to see the OPs suggestion added in to the game.
1) It would still take thousands upon thousands upon thousands of chests to get these titles. a +1 whenever you find a chest, with a possibility of a +2 is NOT that large, and is NOT a game-breaking figure.
2) It only makes sense, with the lockpick mechanic, you are basically gambling away 1.5k for the chance of a really good item.
3) The title will not be worthless... if you want to see a worthless title go take a look at "Kind of a Big Deal (1)" now there is a worthless title nowadays.

i am relaxed thank you just stating my opinion. i also have 2nd tear on both.
however maybe i understood wrong. how many pluses does it take to get the lvl 1 lucky?
i just think the game should stop giving everything away. it seems like everyone these days wants stuff handed to them and are to lazy to work for it.
but if a plus 1 or plus 2 for the pick is what people want then at same hand i think there should be some sort of -1 or -2. after all a person could go buy alot of keys and spam the boxes (and we know people will do that.lol) i guess i just dont understand the plus thing.heee
i in no way think people who pick locks on a safe deserve a lucky or unlucky title.

you cant just spam the chests... you would have to do chest runs... which already happens anyway.
It would still take forever to get the lucky/unlucky titles if they added this so it would be a far cry from 'giving them away'.

at 1.5k a piece with about a 15% chance of actually getting a +1 to lucky title?? I think Not. I like the idea, but tehy would have to amke it not work when using lockpicks on normal mode chests.

worked your butt off? how much work is it to sit in a ring afk for a weekend. only prerequisite is having the gold to finance it.
Even if these ideas are added (+1 for retaining pick, +1 for gold, etc), it will still take a ridiculously long time to gain lucky and unlucky ranks.
The Boardwalk Nine Rings point gain:

If you win in a corner, that's 55 points to Lucky right there. If you open a chest, retain your lockpick as well as getting a gold, that's only 2 points. Now do you see how long its going to take to actually gain points this way? Currently there is no way to gain lucky/unlucky points that does not involve an event. Shing Jea Boardwalk games and the Four Leaf Clovers are the only way to get points and those were both events.
Adding in +1 to Unlucky for breaking lockpicks and for getting purples will accelerate the Unlucky title since each point in that one equaled one loss in the rings. This isn't even a problem since Unlucky has no extra benefits in game.

It takes 50,000 lucky points for Lvl 1 lucky. Let's say every chest you open you get all golds and retain your lockpick every time. It would still take 25000 chests to get just lvl 1 Lucky. This is enough to max out the chest title 2.5 times and this is assuming you get 2 lucky points per chest. In reality, you'll probably only retain the lockpick 10-20% of the time (depending on rank. myself, I have a 25% chance of retaining) and you also won't be getting a gold every time.

The only title currently handed out to people ARE Lucky/Unlucky since all you had to do was sit afk during the Boardwalk events. I don't understand your logic. How are you complaining that people want things just handed to them when you're the one defending the only title that is actually handed to you?

How would anyone just "spam the boxes"? Have you ever gone on a chest run yourself? Or do you think you can open the same chest multiple times or something . .. With the chance of lucky points with chests and gold drops, afking in the Rings is still so much cheaper. Nine Rings costs 10 tickets at 15 each so 150 gold total. Yet if you're standing in a corner ring and win the 55 tickets, that's already the equivalent to at the minimum 28 chests if you get all golds and keep the lockpick (which won't happen).

I found that random drops in hard mode yield more and better gold items than any chest. I have yet to get any max or perfect gold item from chest, mostly just purple, but I've gotten 50 golds from random drops, half of them perfect, the rest with usually at least one perfect mods.
Lockpicks, for the cost, are a horrible waste of money.

I agree they cost too much, at an average of 750 each they are not great at all. If they added to a dubious title of lucky or unlucky that would be fair because they are a gamble.

well i was one of the fools who actually played the games.lmao.
but ty for explaing the ratio. i didnt realise it took that much +1 to get a lucky spot. that being said i see no problem in doing whta was suggested as long as its not every pick maybe like was said 15% after all got to make some challenge.lol

the suggestion was to get +1 lucky point if you retained the pick. most people only have a 10-20% chance to keep it depending on their rank in the chest and lucky titles as is.

Ok you didnt work that hard, you put your char in a little ring and went afk. checked on it here and there to see if you needed to spend more money and left again. Not much work just hours.
I dont think luck should have anything to do with picks if they cost 1.5k make them cheaper and maybe.

I like this one.
And for it to really affect the titles, it take immense amounts of uses.
So it won't make that much of a difference, it's just a bit of help.
